Question
Which steering system should I order?

I have a 89 Sylvan 24’ pontoon and want to replace the steering. Should I order NFB Safe-T II SS132 or NFB 4.2 SS147?

Answer

Both will work fine for you application. The NFB Safe-T II SS132 turns quicker at 3 turns lock to lock. The NFB 4.2 SS147 turns a little slower but a bit easier.

Question
I hava a 1972 IMP with mercruiser outdrive...

I hava a 1972 IMP with mercruiser outdrive. Steering cable is a Ride Guide 17 ft- 9E do you have replacement cable? I am also looking for a gear that is inside the steering wheel assembly, any idea where I could find this?

Submitted by: Rick
Answer

The Ride Guide system is no longer available and the best way to replace it is with a new Steering System, you can use rack or rotary depending on space behind the dash. The number on the cable will indicate length.

Hi - I got an early 70’s 20ft skipjack flybridge has an I/O 350 Chevy with an omc outdrive with a ball type steering cable that has a ball mounted on the outside of the transom. I need that cable or a replacement system. its an 18ft cable. thanks.

Unfortunately your steering system is obsolete and will need to be replaced completely, the new Ball Steering System includes the new ball kit, steering wheel, cable, and helm unit. The kit is complete and has everything you need. If you have further questions please let me know.
