Deck Fills

Deck fills are manufactured from primarily two materials, nylon or metal and are available from manufacturers such as Sea-Dog,Perko and Whitecap. Either type of deck fill function equally well. Most deck fills are stenciled during manufacture to help identify to what tanks the deck fill is connected to. In addition, deck fills are also available with built in vents for fuel and water tanks. Most deck fill caps require some type of wrench to assist in removal except those with a handy keyless cap such as the Nylon Keyless Caps from Seadog. Deck fills are also available with a lockable cap for added security. Most deck fill caps are tethered to the main fitting with either a stainless-steel cable or a chain. In the event a cap should get lost overboard or damaged, replacement caps and replacement O rings are readily available.

Deck Fill Hoses & Clamps

Deck fills typically connect to 1.5” hose. Using the correct marine hose for the application is crucial in the performance of the deck fill system. No waste deck fill is complete without a sanitation hose from manufacturers such as Shields or Trident and held in place with stainless steel clamps manufactured by Sandvik, Dixon, and AWAB. Fuel deck fills should only be connected to fuel rated hose. Potable water deck fill hoses should be carefully chosen to eliminate contamination and unwanted taste and these are typically a PVC reinforced type hose.
