There are numbers stamped into the plastic jacket. They tell the model and length.

M66 Too long...
I called Uflex prior to buying my steering cables from your site. Based on the bass boat model (88 Hydra-Sports DV-175) and engine (88 Johnson 150GT), they told me I needed 16ft cables. I should have known those would be too long since the entire boat is only 18.5 feet. -duh! My question is do I send those back to you or is it possible to shorten the cable (in one foot increments) myself. Is it as simple as cutting back the sheath and use my cutting wheel to trim the cable itself? Submitted by: Low
You can’t cut the cable. You need to exchange it for the correct length.
