Dredge Operations Lifejackets
I was wondering if their are certain requirements by OSHA or MSHA for the type of jackets to be used on a dredge operation? And if so do you carry them for very large men? Submitted by: DB
Sorry we do not have the information you have requested in regards to OSHA, it is a better question for OSHA. I do know they need to be USCG certified but that is all we know. Some examples of work vests. If you find the correct item let me know the quantity and sizes you need and I will give you a commercial discount. This PFD comes sized to 7X.
Inflatable PFD lifespan
I have a SOSpenders inflatable
bought in Oct 1996. Is there a life span to this unit. I have to buy a new charge for it but don’t want too if it is too old. The unit does inflate properly that is why I have to replace the charge. Submitted by: Larry Allard
The general thinking is that inflatables should be tested every three years. A visual inspection should be done every year. There is no projected lifespan on these because people have yet to get to that. If your PVC is worn or exposed to lots of UV, then the inflatable inner might be regarded as reaching it’s lifespan.
