HELP
Need a warm winter jacket for husband who will be working this winter on dock at an oil refinery. Needs to be a survival coat that will help him float in an accident, if he goes in water. The problem is that he’s a 4X….cannot find one! Any suggestions? I’ve tried Mustang and Stearns, to no avail. Thanks! Submitted by: Pam
After extensive research we have not been able to locate a float coat in 4XL.

My wife and I bought our float coats from Cabelas at least 15 years ago, to wear when fishing in our scanoe,and have really injoyed them,as they are so comfortable to wear all day long, even when paddleing or rowing. Submitted by: Jack

This question pertains to "Stearns, Boating Flotation Life Jacket, Bomber Float Coat, Type III PFD" and other similiar products. I am shopping for float coats from myself and husband. I would like something that will help to protect against hypothermia. We boat in SE Alaska, very cold water. Which jacket offers the best/most-suitable protection at the lowest price for this geographical location? Submitted by: Cassie
If you think you will end up in the water in Alaska you will need a survival suit not just a float coat, the coats are great for keeping you afloat but the water up there is too cold for any type of float coat to give you protection for an extended length of time.
