windline w40 and w50 - boring the center out of the wheels
Can anyone say if these rollers are a consistent material throughout? As like someone else, I need a larger shaft, and am wondering whether I might be sucessfull at drilling one to a larger size. Some pictures seem to clearly show a different material in the center, and other pictures appear to show a consistent material, or at least color. Maybe the way they are manufactured has changed over time? And if I used one with half inch chain and maybe a 250 lb anchor, I wonder if that would squash the material and create a lot of friction at the shaft? Thanks……r
Submitted by: Roger
There is an ’axle tube’ in the center of the larger wheels. The wheels themselves are otherwise a solid throughout and they are made of an extremely durable material and shouldn’t be affected by the half inch chain or 250 pound anchor. Windline has said that you can put the wheels in a lathe or bore out the center, but they recommend you put it in a freezer for about "10 hours."
Bow Roller assembly
Is there a complete assembly for a through pulpit type bow roller with stainless steel encasing the through hole? This is going on a 34’ sliverton.

Bow Anchor Roller Hardware
I am interested in purchasing a short bow anchor roller such as the Whitecap AR-6482, Sea Dog 328052, or the Dive-N-Dog AR-SP-1.75-6.25. All of these are listed on your web site. I need to know which of these, if any, include the stainless mounting hardware to actually install the unit. Thanks!
Submitted by: Kev
No manufacturer supplies these with mounting hardware. You can see the issue here; are you mounting it through a deck (wood, fiberglass, 1/2", 4")? To a fiberglass bowsprit on a powerboat? To a wood boomkin at the stern of a ketch? Bolting it through or onto? The thickness of you material and location of the mount changes the mounting hardware.
Do you have 2-3/8" wide, 3" diameter anchor chain roller?
I need a replacement roller only for my anchor roller. I have chain only on my anchor, 200 feet long. The existing roller is hard plastic with a 3/8" shaft and is 2 3/8" wide. The diameter of the outside edge of the roller is approximately 3" and has a groove in the centre of the roller to accommodate chain. Do you have such a piece. I do not mind having to turn the unit on a lathe to shave some width dimension to fit, but does need a 5/16" shaft opening or slightly larger.
Submitted by: Al Tsuji
The closest anchor roller we have to the dimensions you specified is the W30 Marithane Wheel. It is 3.4" wide and has a 1/2" bore for the roller shaft. You would need to make it narrower and use a bushing for the shaft.
I need to find a replacement bow anchor roller for my O'day 322
I need to find a replacement bow anchor roller for my O’day 322. It is a dual roller system with two rollers on each of the port and starboard side. Another boat hit the fitting and broke off the toward two rollers. The fitting fits over the bow and also screws into the sides of the bow.

Without seeing the damage, you could cut off the old assembly and replace it with this Double Anchor Roller.
