I’ve got a 78 140HP mercruiser. It will run at idle with joke on, and run full speed with out choke but when u idle with out choke it dies. Submitted by: Mike
It sounds like you need to rebuild the carburetor and adjust the mixture screws.

I had the carburetor adjusted for altitude 7.4L 300 hp Bravo 1991 S/N OD425835 Engine was tuned by dealer at Lake Havasu,AZ. Later, I moved to Navajo Lake,NM. with a differce of apx.6,000 FT. Would there be a manuel available? Submitted by: John
There is no manual that covers this. You need to go down two sizes on the main jets. In some cases it also helps to drop two inches of pitch on the propeller.
Carb to Efi
Hi, ive recently bought a ’06 Bayliner with a Mercruiser 5.7 carb. engine.
Im not at all engine minded so please excuse me if this is a silly question. I was wondering if its possible to convert from carb to efi and if so do you have the kit/parts required to do so? Submitted by: Nathan
Holley Marine offers a kit. It is expensive and not really worth the expense.
