Trim troubles
95 4.3 Mercury in/out. Trim lowers all the way but will not rise all the way. Lifts only half way and then everything cuts out. It will lower again no problem. Any ideas? Submitted by: Mike Morrissette
It sounds like the trim pump is bad. If you have the drive serial number we can look up the correct replacement for you.
Tilt-n- trim power trick?
I have a 1968 Searay with a Merc 120 outdrive. It has a tilt and trim switch inside with a key and a red switch to raise up and down. The first time out I couldn’t get the motor to raise. Is there a trick to unlocking the tilt that I can’t see? Submitted by: pat
No tricks, make sure you are getting power the trim motor. If it is getting power replace the motor.
Trim indicator
My Bayliner dash gauge doesn’t accurately show the outdrive postion. It never shows past 1/2 down. ’99 Merc 5.0L, alpha one drive- OL414667. Submitted by: Roger
Trim lines from cylinder to distribution block
I have a 1985 Alpha 1 with Mercury 260 h/p motor in a Doral Citation and I’m looking for all four replacement lines from the distributoin block on the bottom of the drive, to the cylinders in Sierra part number. mercruiser trim hoses
I have a 1995 3.oLX Mercruiser sterndrive and the trim hoses are leaking. How can I replace the hoses?
What major parts do I have to remove in order to replace them. Submitted by: cangelow
Depending on what hose is leaking the job is fairly straight forward it is remove and replace the defective hose and refill and bleed system.
