I have a 88 3.0 mercruiser at idle @600 to 700 rpm the temp rises quickly at @1200 to 1500 rpm it drops and stays steady is this a weak water pump or impellar? Submitted by: Nathan
Definitely sounds like your impeller is in need of replacement it should be done every couple years. Complete Pump Housing Kit.

Do I need a new raw water pump when changing manifolds on a Mercruiser 260?
I have a 1981 Mercruiser 260. I’m converting the exhaust from Log to center style Manifolds. I want to go with a full San Juan system. Power steering is mounted low on port side. Would I need a new raw water pump also? Submitted by: Jeff
Your existing raw water pump for the 1981 Mercruiser 260 will work just fine.
