I am replacing the engine block in 1983 5.7L omc sterndrive model# 574SPHRCT engine SN 777429 which has straight across bolt patteren starter holes with, 5.7L engine block (unknown yr.) that has off set bolt pattern. Is there a starter for this application? Submitted by: Dave

Hello, I am replacing a ’78 305 chev block with the small flywheel with a newer block with the one piece rear main seal and 14 inch flywheel. I need to use the old bellhousing and I am wondering if I can order the later starter from you and have everything fit. The casting numbers on the side of the block are : 627. We will need to know the size or weight of the starter, is the starter approximately 20 pounds or more like 6. They had 2 possibilites the old delco heavy duty and the newer style gear reduction. let me know and I will tell you the best option.
