A Marine Gasket should be used for any marinized engine. This is spcially true if there is you are using salt water to cool it.
Do I need a marine specific oil filter?
Do I need a marine specific oil filter or will a filter from the auto parts store work? Answer Depending on the engine; I/O, outboard or inboard - when in doubt, you should always use a marine filter.

Mercruiser V6 oil filter
I need to change oil on a merCruizer V6 which I have been told is a 190hp enfine. What filter should I use? Answer There are a few variables and we will need complete engine information to verify but the most common Oil Filter is in stock and ready to ship.
