1987 evinerude 150hp
I have an 87 150 evinerude ive rebuilt,new rings,bearings,gaskets, runs great at idle and at higher speeds but has a real bad dead spot when throttleing up.It will quit unless you keep pumping the primer bulb,tried an electric fuel pump,does same thing.Please help!!! Submitted by: T.P.
It sounds like you need to go through the carburetors. You might also check the reed valves.
Fuel leak
We have just bought an Evinrude 4hp BE4BRCRM 1984 outboard. At the moment it is leaking fuel where the fuel-line meets the engine. We have a two-pronged Evinrude connector, and the seal looks ok on the female (line) end. The male (engine) end is bare metal. Should there be seal here? I’ve seen photos where the male end has a raised metal phlange to engage the female seal, but I believe our male connector is flush. Any advice? Are there several kinds of connector, and can we enact a repair? Submitted by: Phil
1989 30 horse evinrude
I have a 1989 30 HP Evinrude. The motor runs great for hours then suddenly quits at high speed. The bulb is still hard. I’m wondering if maybe it could be a bad hose fittings? Submitted by: gary
If the engine shuts off suddenly, it sounds like an electrical issue. I would look into the power pack.
50 hp Evinrude 1994
My 50 hp Evinrude will not stay running. I rebuilt the carb, took it out on the lake and let it run for 20 minutes before a left the boat dock. Two minutes after getting it up to speed it quit. What do I need to check next? Submitted by: coop
When it dies, check for a spark at the plugs.
vro fuel pump
I have a 1988 70 hp johnson with a vro fuel pump on it, the fuel side diaphram is bad can I just order this diaphram without ordering the whole kit. Submitted by: tim
