volvo outdrive conversion
My husband bought a 290 single prop outdrive that was paired with a 4cyl Volvo dual carb engine with the intention of mounting it on our 350cc engine. The boat came without an outdrive, but was equipped with a 290dp. The coolant lines do not line up - is there a way to convert it to work? Submitted by: fossilfishes
There is a way, but your big problem is the gear ratio in the drive is way off for a V8 engine. You need to address that first.

Yes, both drive units use the same u-joint.
I had bought the bellows for my Volvo Penta AQ 125/270 recently and found tham to be of very good quality
The bellows fit perfectly and easy to assemble. Much better than the crappy ones I had previously. Submitted by: Squeaky
O-ring for drive shaft bellows repair
I must replace the drive shaft bellows on my 1987, 290DP outdrive. I know I need the kit - part #82581, but I think I also need the o-ring where the upper case mates to the lower part of the outdrive. Do you sell this o-ring? Submitted by: Paul
