I have a 270 HP left hand rotation Crusader engine model # CH270 Serial #35400. Apparently, the original starter motor had part # 42084 Which model starter motor with a solenoin that will fit on the bell housing should I use? How many teeth are on the gear? Submitted by: craig

I am trying to find a starter for my 2005 Mercruiser I/O. I bought one last week from a local company that would not work. There seems to be some confusion over the size of the flywheel. I was told by another company that I had a 14" flywheel but I think the starter I bought was for a 12 1/2" flwheel. Which starter do you recommend? Submitted by: Randy

Replacement starter for a 76 Tollycraft 26' sedan
Hi, I just bought a 76 Tollycraft 26’ sedan (boat). Engine runs great but the starter seems to have died. Interested in a replacement starter/solenoid combo but Im not a mechanic and want to make sure I get the correct part. Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase?
Engine - Mercruiser Chevy V-8 Model 255. Starter - Delco-Remy P/N 1108742 6C 16.

This must be an MIE (inboard) engine and not a Mercruiser with a drive off the back.
This Inboard Starter should be what you are looking for. You will want to verify the rotation of the starter from the mechanic.
