Look for a red reset button. On many Volvo models it is located on the trim/tilt motor assembly.

Question
volvo penta 1978 tilt trim hydraulic pump

My original pump is volvo #850922-6. The motor works fine but the hydraulic pump is very weak. Can you rebuild pump or exchange and how much?

Answer

According to the number given, your motor and reservoir should look like the unit at the link below. If this is what you have we can rebuild your pump and/or valve block but it needs to be sent to Florida and the turn around time is approximately 3 weeks. The cost for the pump rebuild will be 201.99 plus freight. You will need to call to order.

I would like to know how I’d determine which pump assy. I have on my 2001 Volvo SX. It is either Oildyne or Teleflex but how do you determine?

Answer

The Teleflex pump (after 2001) will use o-rings on the fittings.
