older 280 volvo penta drive
I have an older boat with a 280 volvo penta outdrive. Occasionally the lift motor will work the leg up and down but mostly just clicks without doing anything. The motor part # is 850834 would you have the correct replacement part.

Look for a red reset button. On many Volvo models it is located on the trim/tilt motor assembly.
volvo penta 1978 tilt trim hydraulic pump
My original pump is volvo #850922-6. The motor works fine but the hydraulic pump is very weak. Can you rebuild pump or exchange and how much?

According to the number given, your motor and reservoir should look like the unit at the link below. If this is what you have we can rebuild your pump and/or valve block but it needs to be sent to Florida and the turn around time is approximately 3 weeks. The cost for the pump rebuild will be 201.99 plus freight. You will need to call to order. Power Trim Motor with Reservoir
'97, volvo 5.7, trim system
The reset button on the trim keeps popping. The button will reset and as soon as you hit the switch on throttle handle it pops again. So the lower unit will not trim up or down. What might the possible problems with the trim system such that the reset button keeps popping?

How do I know if I have an Oildyne or Teleflex pump?
I would like to know how I’d determine which pump assy. I have on my 2001 Volvo SX. It is either Oildyne or Teleflex but how do you determine?
Submitted by: Joe
The Teleflex pump (after 2001) will use o-rings on the fittings.
