Post a question or comment about Gasoline Fuel Filter Assemblies to our online boating community.
Can you recommend a fuel filter?
I have a 40 HP four stroke Yahama outboard. Having trouble with E-10 fuel. It is suggested that I install an in line filter. Which one would you recommend?

We do stock a Fuel Filter for your 40hp Yamaha outboard.
Racor spin on diesel filter assembly leaks air?
I have a sailboat w/ a racor spin on filter which has a vent on the front of the top of the filter housing. This filter assembly is at least 10-15 years old. It uses an R12S type filter. The vent allows air to enter the fuel system, hence I cannot bleed the system or use the filter. This is a backup primary filter assembly. My main primary filter is a Racor bowl type filter which works fine. What can I do to prevent this vent from allowing air to be sucked into the system? Answer What you are refering to as a vent is actually a bleeder. If it is alowing air into the system, then you need to replace the o-ring seal. We can source the correct seal if you can get the model number of the fuel filter. We have a list of Racor fuel filters which use the Racor R12S Element.

I have a 1996 outboard boat that came with a racor system
I have a 1996 outboard boat that came with a racor system ( s3220ul) and want to replace it. The current motor is a 300 hp yamaha HPFI (2 cycle) outboard. What assembly do you reccomend? I want the mount, filter and bowl. Also, my fuel tank is evidently very clean because i sometime cut the filters open after replacement and find almost no dirt. How often should I change filters? Do they deteriate and loose their effectiveness over time? I currently change the filter every year. Answer You have two options, a see thru filter bowl and filter element that can be drained or a spin on filter similar to an oil filter. If you are not having issues with contamination, annual service is recommended.
