Bow Thruster
I have a Chris Craft Continental 38 and want to fit a bow thruster…. I have not been able to get hold of technical drawings for the hull… Is there sufficient space? And where should it be located… Best from the hulls structure perspective. Submitted by: Gjh
Nearly any boat yard will offer the answer for you. Yes, you can fit a bow thruster to your vessel. You can figure it out yourself by measuring 12-16" wide in the bow, below the waterline to see where that is inside. It will likely be at the bottom of the chain locker or in the forward area of the V berth.
Vetus bow thruster - what is it like installing?
I’m about to purchase a 2002 Shamrock Mackinaw 270 without a bow thruster. This option is important to me. Can you tell me if this can be fitted with one without a lot of trouble. Submitted by: Patrick Ellis
Hello, it can be done but you will lose some space in the V Berth. You will need to install an 8D battery and battery charger OR make sure that your current electrical system can handle the additional load. If you batteries and charging system are up to it, it is simply a matter of installing a tube, the thruster and leading wires and cables.
