DockEdge+ mooring whips, act as springs to maintain your boat at a safe, convenient distance from your dock and prevent impacts from waves or the wakes of passing watercraft.

Construction starts with a solid rod with triple crosswound fiberglass that gives these mooring whips the necessary strength and to retain the boats’ position and prevent overflexing of the whip. Quality built solid, cast aluminum base with built-in cleat, ring and thumb screw.

Unique end tip with functional roller and a tie-off cleat for easier boat access. Simply release the whip line from the tie-off cleat. The whip lines effortlessly roll through the pulley at the tip causing the boat to gently approach the dock for boarding.

Patented cross-wound material and NEW carbon fiber technology. Exclusive “Plug & Socket” design for quick and easy separation. Double braided nylon whip lines, spring lines and unique line tensioner make for a one-handed set-up. Stainless steel mounting hardware included.

Taylor Made whips are designed to pull the boat away from the dock by applying continuous variable pressure between boat and dock, while spring lines keep the boat from moving out of position. The proven design provides ample protection under severe conditions, such as boat wakes, winds and tides. The mooring whips are manufactured from high-quality solid fiberglass, tapered to provide superior strength and the flex action needed to maintain a safe, convenient distance from the dock. Each rod incorporates an exclusive roller tip and whip cleat design that allows for easy retrieval of the boat for boarding and makes tie-off quick and hassle-free.

The dock-mounted whip bases are cast from a super-strong aluminum alloy, which is powder coated to prevent oxidation and keep them looking good for years in the marine environment.

The Taylor Made mooring whips are available in 8-16 ft. lengths for boats ranging from 12-75 ft. and weights up to 72,000 lbs. All models are sold as pairs and include hardware and mooring lines.

The energy of the boat moving is transfered to the floating dock whether tied directly to it or with the whips. The primary difference is that the whip will act a bit like a shock absorber.

So, there will be the same mechanical load on the floating dock, but, with a reduced shock load. So the answer is yes, if what you mean by "strain" is the shock load, then the strain will be reduced.

Boat sways from Mooring Whip mounts...

the previous owners boat was 24ft. mine is 20ft. Should the base mounts for the whips be adjusted to be the same length as the boat??? the boat seems shift from stern to bow about 3-4 ft. ???
