water in Exhaust
My exhaust from the top of the manifold to the transom, drops only 6" and getting water in one side. can i just add a 3-4" spacer to fix or is something more needed. Do not want to restrict flow. Marine Power S 5.7V

A riser extension should do it for you if that is the only problem. I would pressure test the manifold to make sure it is not leaking internally.
Exhaust Manifold gaskets
I am looking at replacing my Osco 99204 risers and I would like to know why my fresh water cooled engine requires open gaskets as opposed to closed gaskets. Submitted by: tom
If you need open gaskets you have a 1/2 (engine only) cooling system. The manifolds are still raw water cooled.
Is there a way to change over to thru the hull exhaust on a mercruiser 485?
Is there a way to change over to thru the hull exhaust on a mercruiser 485 (170). Answer Depending on the make of the boat you can run thru hull exhaust but you will need to make your own system making sure you do keep a down angle all the way out. Submitted by: mike
