lightweight lifevest
I am looking for a very lightweight lifevest for my grandson. He weighs about 150 lbs. He can swim but has muscular dystrophy. We have a sail boat and a cabin cruiser and he loves hanging around the boats with us. I make him wear a life jacket and need a very lightweight comfortable one for him to wear in case he falls into to the water and is unable to have the strength to swim. Submitted by: Carol

We do not publish USCG versions to the website for obvious reasons. You will need to supply proof of service to order.
Life vest for 95 lb person
My son is 95 lbs. and his chest is 27" around, what size life vest should I get him? Submitted by: Nikki
At 95 lbs, your son will be needing an adult size vest as a child or youth vest will not provide the necessary buoyancy. Unfortunately, I’ve gone through our site and have not been able to locate a vest with a small enough chest size.
Type II and III preservers
Hi, I wondered if the Search and rescue series of preserver was designed to turn people face up in the water if they are unconscious? We are looking for one that has this feature but is not quite as bulky or confining as the ones that buckle right at the throat? Answer Type I PFD’s are designed to turn people face up in the water. You might want to consider an Merchant Mate Life Vest. It is USCG Approved Type I, is designed to turn most unconscious wearers right side up and is not so bulky. This is not as comfortable as the Comfort Series Search & Rescue PFD, but is rated a I versus a III. Submitted by: skicrazee
