Force 10 Kerosene Heater
We have a Force 10 kerosene heater in our Buckaneer Sailboat. It is quite smokey when starting and we are interested in converting it to propane. Is there a kit for the conversion? We see you have a kit for diesel but don’t see one for kerosene Submitted by: Bill

I need to replace my Dickinson P9000 with a P1200...
I have a Dickinson P9000 in a 36 foot sail boat in the Pacific Northwest and this heater just doesn’t seem to heat the boat. I would like to up grade to the P12000 and I was curious if it will fit in the same space as the P9000. Submitted by: Gil
It is likely the Dickinson P12000, which is 10" x 7.25" x 16", will fit in the same location as your P9000 which is 8.5" x 5.5" x 14". The required clearances from the front and sides are the same 2" and the flue pipe sizes are the same. There is also a link to the Installation Manual on the upper right hand side of the product pages where many installation questions are answered.
Which propane cabin heater?
Looking at two propane cabin heaters-34’ sailboat-Pacific Seacraft
1) Cozy Cabin Heater .
2)Dickson Newport P/900 . EXTRA . I am replacing old Cozy Cabin (Force 10)so installation would be easier.
I have wall mounted fan by unit to move the heat. I have also read that Dickson may use less fuel, and cause less moisture in cabin. I don’t live on boat, and when it at dock I use a small electric heater. I am planning to do more early spring and late fall overnight sails where the propane heater would be my only source of heat when I anchor out. Submitted by: Jim
Here are the main differences: Cozy Cabin - 1" flue (easy to install) no fresh air intake, 6500 BTU, Fuel consumption 3.3 hours per pound of propane.
Newport P9000 - 3" flue with fresh air intake, 5500-7500 adjustable, Fuel consumption 7 hours on low, 5 on high per pound of propane. Both are made by Dickinson. Sigmarine is owned by Dickinson. You should get the P9000 - for all the reasons stated above. The only down side it the one time install of the heater.
