How do I measure steering length when console is on port side and which system would you use? johnson outboard no steering wheel or any steering compoments
Submitted by: kramel
If you are running the cable down the port side then measure from middle of the wheel to gunnel, back to stern and to mid point of engine.
Hydraulic steering
I have a 16 ft. Blue Wave Boat powered by a 2005 60 hp Yamaha. Hard steer to Port. Have NFS boat goes straight. Tried mooving trim tab, raising motor two holes still no help. Checked prop get 5300 RPM 2 people with 18 gal gas. Would hydraulic steering work?

Hydraulic steering would greatly help and work for your application.
uflex protech 1or2 hydraulic steering
I have a 1991 yamaha 225hp outboard. Which protech hydraulic steering should I use?

How do I measure for a complete steering system ?
I have a small 14 RIB that came with an unmounted center console, no steering wheel, cables or other (my first motorboat ). I have a 50 horsepower Honda 4 stroke outboard. I want to set up the steering from the console to the outboard. What set up do I purchase and how do I measure cables? I need everything from steering wheel to outboard.
Submitted by: bbailey
You will need to measure from center point of steering wheel over to gunnel straight back to the transom and then to middle point of engine, the Universal Rotary Steering System will include the steering wheel. Attaching the end of the cable to the engine may require an OEM specific piece available through Honda.
What hydraulic steering kit would be best for my boat?
I am looking for a hydraulic steering kit for a 1989 Ranger 363v bass boat with a 1992 Evinrude Intruder 150hp. Which kit would you recommend? It has a dual Teleflex cable system on it that is seizing up.
