There are numbers stamped into the plastic jacket of the cable. They tell the model and length. Look near the engine end.
Steering part - helm?
Looking 4 part # (MFGD teleflex pat no 5253543) It has steel cable going through it to steer. The boat is a 455 bay raider 2001 model.

Any advice on how to remove frozen steering arm from pivot bush on outboard motor. (cable type steering.) Answer The best recommendation for a seized part is lots of WD-40 and heat from a torch.
