ignition parts fpr 2 hp mariner

Pull the flywheel and see if there are contact points. If so they may need to be replaced.
'96 Mercury Jet 30 - No spark, motor ran all day, turned off, then tried to start to head back in, wouldn't fire
No spark, motor ran all day, turned off, then tried to start to head back in, wouldn’t fire. Confirmed lack of spark. Most reading I’ve done suggests stator and/or switch box issue. Is there a reasonably simple way to diagnose the issue? Then, of course I’d need to order the necessary parts. Submitted by: Bear
Your problem could be as simple as the rectifier. You can OHM it to see if there is an open line. You can do this with the stator assembly as well. All procedures are covered in a Seloc Repair Manual. If you don’t have one it will be a good investment if you plan on doing the repairs. Here are the Seloc Repair Manuals
