Fresh water pump.
I just bought a merc. 4 cyl. inboard-outboard & I wonder if there is a fresh-water pump on the outboard like there is on a outboard engine? If so where is it located? I don’t have a maint. man. as of yet. Thanks, Doc. Submitted by: Doc
It is called a raw water pump, and it is located in the lower unit similar to an outboard and it is recommended to service it every two years.
heat exchanger
Need a replacement heat exchanger for a MCM 190(3.7) liter 4 cylinder Merc. Installation is in a 1978 Glasply but believe the engine is newer. The one I have leaks and the measurements are 4"x27.5"

Block drain plugs
Do you have a brass substitute for the blue plastic drain plugs on the 2005 4.3 lt. Mercruiser engine? One of mine broke the thumb-wing off leaving the threads in the block in a hard to get to spot. Don`t want this to happen again! Maybe something like an auto rad drain. Submitted by: Wade
Unfortunately all we have is the plastic Drain Elbow Assembly just like the original, you may try making one out of plumbing supplies at a hardware store the fitting going into the manifold is standard NPT threads.
engine flushing
I have a 2006 Stingray 250CR 2006 model with a mercruiser 350MPI Bravo 3. I purchased a San Juan engineering freshwater system from you a few yeaqrs ago and it works great - no problems. My engine has only the engine block fresh water system that does not include the manifolds and risers. My unit uses the stock water intake, water pump and exhaust system. Now that I am using my boat more frequently in salt water I would like to get a more convenient system for flushing the raw water parts of the system than having to use the "ear muffs" when the boat is on my lift. Thermostat does not seem to be operating correctly
I just replaced the thermostat in my 1988 chev 304 2bbl carb Mercruiser. The old one (it was working fine) did not have a gasket under the thermostat nor does the schematic show one. The new kit has one that fits under the thermostat against the block. I decided not to use it and go by the schematic instead. The temp gauge does not move after 30 minutes and the engine does not appear to reach operating temperture. Would the absence of the block gasket have anything to do with the cool operation? It sounds like the new thermostat is floating in the thermostat housing causing the water to bypass it. Would recommend using the other seal.
