4 Blade SS prop
Had a 137/8X15" on a 5.2Mtr fibergalss Cuddy cabin and found the 115Hp Evinrude E-Tec motor gradually climbed in RPM from 3K to 4K. It was suggested the boat was too light and did not ’load’ the motor enough. A new 13"X15" four blade prop changed all that. Great ’bite’, lower RPM for the same speed is like an overdrive gear in a car and has solved the gradual increase in RPM. It is perhaps a little over pitched though as the motor cannot quite run to the top of the recommended rev range.
The gains outweigh this though. Win, win! Submitted by: Johnno
Solas Props - Sizing and Manufacturing Location
Have 1995 SeaRay 195 open bow with 4.3 Alpha One. Original prop was 3 blade aluminum 13.74X21 and was replaced with Turbo 3 blade stainless 14.25X20. Both max our about 50 MPH at 4800 WOT (spec). Need better hole shot for water sports - can you recommend sizing in 4 blade and also provide information on where the props are actually built? Submitted by: George
Solas makes a 14-1/4" X 19" RH aluminum 4 blade that will give you lots of pulling power. Solas propellers are made in Taiwan and they build as good of propeller as anyone in the industry.
