Additional Description

Globe impellers are made of new elastomer compounds which are laboratory developed and job tested. Each impeller is fabricated of an elastomer specifically compounded for optimum performance. Globe elastomers can be hard and rigid or soft and flexible or anywhere in between.

Impeller application

Hello! I am looking for an impeller for my 1993 OMC King Cobra outdrive. The two part numbers for the current impeller are 987176 and 3854072.(one number replaced the other) The cross reference guide suggests your impeller 625. The measurements appear identical, but the drive somewhat different. When you look inside my impeller, it basically looks like a triangle. Please let me know if you think the 625 will work. Thanks

Answer

3854072 is the correct part number. There is nothing after market available. You have to order the OEM part.

Globe Impellers

I was curious about these and read the reviews, mostly old ones with several complaining of premature failures. I called Globe and spoke to the head engineer for over an hour- apparently there had been a bad batch years ago that was an isolated event- improperly cured he said. He was adamant that the impellers were extensively tested and were made with much more expensive materials than the competition. I’ve used several in small Yanmars with good results. The thing I like about them is they resist taking a ’set’, and being more slippery, probably cause less wear to the pump cam and wear surfaces.

Stay away from these

Didn’t last more that 40 hours. Once I friend told me I should stay away from these blue impellers but I didn’t listen. Know its my turn to alert, I almost fried my engine. For your safety, Stay with the original Yanmar black impellers.

It is regrettable to hear of the premature failure this impeller. What we do know is that Globe Rubber Works was sold to Kalm-Forsythe Global Innovations in 2004. They are now listed as Globe Composite Solutions and you can also make your concerns known directly. When in doubt with a products quality or have a warranty issue, always stay with OEM.
