This is our custom assembled replacement kit for the obsolete OMC "thru transom steering" for older OMC sterndrives. The system uses replacable and recognized Teleflex Morse parts.
Replaces all the parts in the thru transom assembly except the "clam shells"
"Steering kit Only" contains custom stainless steel tube, stainless ratchet end and brass ball
"Steering System" contains the custom kit and the Teleflex SS141 steering cable
Replaces the old OMC system to an updated conventional rack steering system
If replacing a rotary system please call for technical assitistance
Isnthis a direct replacement of the tube and ball? Is it possible to see a picture of the components included in the kit?

The ball steering kit is a complete replacement and will include the steering wheel, helm, cable, and a new ball tube assembly, everything you need for an upgrade of the obsolete ball steering.
Does this kit contain everything needed to replace the clamshell system? I have a 1969 sea-ray with omc parts, the rack is stripped and is seperate from the cable. need a rack or something like this kit and wondering if this would work for me. thanks

If you order the Ball Mechanical Rack Stern Drive Steering System kit with the correct length cable, you will get everything you need to update the clam shell kit. You will use the old clam shells to complete the installation.
I have a 1973 Seaswirl Rogue, I need a new O-Ring seal for the steering penetration thru the stern, it’s 2" ID and a 1/4" thick. Any suggestions would be helpful,thanks.
