Question
285 series breaker

I am wiring a new boat that I am building myself. How do I determine what size circuit breaker to use. Thank you

Answer

You will need to first figure out what your total amperage needs will be and that will be based on the total number of items that will be run off this circuit and their respective amperage draws.

Paneltronics makes a 206-086, a 16amp 120v single toggle 3 pole that they feel is the modern cross up for the number you provided.

My 1985 Regal Commodore 277 has small round DC trip breakers on the cabin electric panel, and I am looking to replace them. Are they available anywhere?
