Could you please explain principal differences (other than price) between 1/2" nylon anchor line from Continental Western (1/2" - 600’ -.35, Sea Choice .93 and New England Ropes .67
Submitted by: Steve
The ropes are all very similar the main difference is the quality of nylon material, how they are made and where they are made. New England Ropes have always been top of the line and made in the USA - the others are imported.
Continental Western is a popular choice among many Pacific NW fisherman, I would buy with confidence.
Thank you for the inquiry,
Anchor Rope Selection?
I have a 25’ Sea Pro 235CC. Factory specs dry show it to weigh 3,000 lbs. Geared up with fuel, water, people, bait, etc, it will obviously be more.
What is the proper anchor rope selection for this boat? I was leaning towards the Polyester Dacron Blend, Double Braid Rope, 600’ Length, 3/8" Diameter Part#: 204213, Mfr#: 325025.
Is this rot proof/resistant? Is this a good rope for sea water application?

The simple response is that Anchor Line is 3 strand nylon (stretches) and the smallest size that most people consider ’ok’ to haul in by hand is 1/2".
Nylon is good rope for the application and is rot resistant.
