Nice Product at a Great Price

The seat base is well made with a well polished finish. The vertical locking is accomplished by tightening the metal nut & bolt with a plastic handle. It is well engineered & doesn't slip. The unit adapted well to my own base plate & bench seat. Two of the units were used to secure a bench seat at the helm & worked well without a big investment. Again, this is a well made aluminum unit & not junk. When in the lowest position the post extension does not extend out, through or below the base. Through bolting the base is all that is required. Cutting a hole for the inner post to extend through the deck is not required in the full down position.
