Review
Steering Wheel

I just replaced my morse steering cable and shaft. It’s rack and pinion style. It comes with a keyway and tapered shaft. I’m scraping the old wheel. Will your sw59691p Teleflex wheel work? Is the new tapered shafts standard?

Answer

The new shafts are all 3/4" tapered and any standard wheel will work.

Question
Steering Wheel - Can you recommend a replacement?

I would like to replace the steering wheel on my 1987 Invader 18ft bowrider. When I popped the cap in the middle of the wheel there where three screws holding it in place.
Can you recommend a replacement? I thought the teleflex SW59691P might be a good fit but I am not sure how it mounts. Can you help?

Answer

If you have cable steering then it has a 3/4" tapered shaft and there should be a nut holding the wheel on the shaft, you may need a wheel puller to remove the old hub assembly( the hub assembly is what the 3 screws are mounted to) the wheel you have chosen will work fine.
