Kedge Marine Boat Anchor, 60 lb

I have a 40 foot trawler Pilgrim 40. I am looking for an appropriate kedge anchor 60lbs approx. The 73272 KA60 model… What is Tarred Steel? And could I obtain more manufacturer specifications? Thanks. Regards! Normand

Submitted by: Normand

Tarred Steel is exactly what it sounds like - they finish these steel Fisherman anchor by either hot dipped galvanizing or dipping in tarring compound. Commercial fishing boats often buy the less expensive tarred anchor because they are not worried about the tar smudging and they count on losing them at some time!

I would advise you to get the galvanized steel version. Since a mere 43 of your fine boat were built, I can imagine that you would want to keep it clean.
