Well Designed and Built Inflatable Boat/Dinghy

Bought this boat from LFS early 2018 Summer, and used it as a dinghy on the stern end of our cruiser, while on our 2018 south Puget Sound cruise for the first time, and it worked great. I use a 2.5hp outboard motor on it, and it pushes it along at a good clip. The dinghy is well-built, with fairly heavy PVC fabric, and good inflation valves. Adequate number of hand grips, grab lines on top of port and starboard air chambers, and it's not leaking air, equate to a high-quality build, and good value. I have not attempted to run it up onto a beach, and when I do, will need to be careful to avoid rocky bottom conditions, so as to avoid possible damage to the PVC fabric bottom. I compared it to other brands on the market, including Mercury, West Marine, and Zodiac, and could not find a better value for it's size and features. Check it out.

How small does this pack down?

Answer:
The box it comes in will be 24"H x 14"W x 42"L. It will probably never get back down to that size again but that should be approximately how small it will pack down.

Answer: There should not be any water intrusion from the floor. Slats are raised slightly also. I would recommend a waterproof battery box any time the battery is going to be exposed anyway, for water protection and to help secure battery.
Question:
The USCG requires reflective tape be added to our Kachemak inflatable, I'm wondering what is the BEST cleaning solution to prep the attach spots? The PVC has a slick feel to it I'm sure its something from the Mfg process.

Answer:
You will want to clean the surface with Acetone, MEK or Toluene just like when gluing on a patch.
Then test the reflective tape to see if it will hold.
If the reflective tape/material doesn't stick by itself, they'll need some adhesive. Our SKU 542114 Weaver 3001 PVC will do the trick.

- All returns must be recevied within 30 days of receipt.
