Q: I have a 1995 Cobalt 220 with a 5.8 liter MPFSI engine with a Volvo Penta DPS out-drive. I need to replace the oil filter, I put in fresh oil with the water separator kit and I bought the wrong oil filter. My boat has boat has 600 hours on it. I want to switch to synthetic oil. Do I need a special oil filter for that? If so, what would you recommend? A: No special filter needed. You can use your favorite brand oil filter for this engine.
