When you install the Frigoboat Spill-Over Fan with Mechanical Thermostat in the barrier between your boat fridge and freezer ice box, it helps maintain an even temperature in the fridge.

The thermostat in this unit operates the fan independently from the compressor to draw spill-over cold air from the freezer into the fridge. This maintains the temperature in the fridge section and prolongs safe food storage time.

This combination spill-over fan and mechanical thermostat did not work. It was clearly a bad part. I tested it with a multimeter for continuity. It did not matter where the thermostat was set, my meter read over limit. When I emailed GO2marine with this information and asked how to initiate a return process they said because it was installed that they would not accept the return and provide store credit. They did not even offer to send a replacement part. I was simply provided a link to a third party website that does refrigeration and told to talk to them to see if there is a warranty issue with product.

Chilling out the Icebox

Just what I was looking for for the spill over partition I was creating in my icebox. It works flawlessly keeping the air moving from the freezer side to the refrigerator side. Installation is very simple. You determine where you want to put it in the wall separating the freezer side from refrigerator side which is about 3/4 the way up from the bottom of the refrigerator side and cut a 2 inch hole. Mount the fan and run the wires to a 12vdc source that is properly fused or current protected. It is a little pricey, but does what it is advertised to do and easy to install.
