Easy install, works great.

I installed thus on my 15 hp that we sometime take on rivers. It slowed me down about 2 mph which I expected but I find that I plane out quicker. I'll order another one for my 8 hp. too.

It works

Nerve wracking but fairly easy to install. It worked to deflect a tree stump on the very first day of use. I've broken a skeg and a prop before, so it's well worth the money.

Sharp edges

Quality could be much higher by breaking all the sharp edges. The stamped edges were very sharp while handling it for installation on outboard. I took a metal file and broke the edges.

Keep your skeg alive

For shallow rivers or stumps in flats, this is a must! It has saved my lower unit many times in the last 22 years. I had one on my 12 foot jon and hit rocks, trees and even a huge snakehead without any major damage. I had to get one when I bought a new boat. Standard equipment for me.

PROP SAVERS RIVER RUNNER

I have installed this but have not had it in the river yet as we are in a very dry period so the river is to low. As far as the install it was super easy to put on with a very good video available on youtube by the company. The quality appears to very good on this unit and I feel like it will definitely protect the skeg as well as the prop. If you run rivers then you should have this on your skeg. The only reason I gave it a 4 star review is because I haven't had it in the river yet but I have little doubt it will function and so as it is suppose to do.
