They float in case they should fall in the water and are USCG approved for day or nighttime signal use. The Skyblazer II signal reaches an altitude of up to 450 feet with a 7 second burn time each and provides 16,000 candela of brightness. The Skyblazer II signals come packaged in a resealable plastic bag.
