CS Johnson's Over Center Gate Hook LS-3100 is part of the Splice Line Fittings Series that lets boaters easily splice Dyneema fiber lines to standard life line fittings. The Over Center Gate Hook with Splice Eye is made from hard-anodized 6061-T6 Aluminum so its light weight and easy on the line. Both US Sailing and ISAF now allow Dyneema/Spectra life lines for offshore racing and Dyneema/Spectra is also a great product for the cruising sailor that wants to replace their stainless steel life line cables.
Johnson recommends you change out the lines at 4 year intervals.
