Description
Use a Tap Sleeve when you are installing a new Closed Crankcase Ventilation System (CCV) on an existing turbocharged diesel installation. Tap sleeves provide a way to create a port in the engine's air intake line for the CCV exhaust gases. Determine the inside diameter of the hose between the turbo and the air cleaner. This will determine the outside diameter of the tap sleeve required for completion of the installation.
- Example: John Deere #4045T - The hose between the turbocharger and air cleaner is 4" ID. The correct tap sleeve is CCV40100, which is 4" outside diameter, and has a 1" OD barb for the hose from the corresponding CCV unit
- For new engine installations, we suggest using a Racor Marine Air Filter (see separate entry), which incorporates a built-in port for the hose from a CCV unit
