Description
Ladner Weighted Shrimp Pot*
Made in British Columbia, Canada
For Use in WA State for Shrimping.
Originator of the nesting style shrimp/prawn trap. The proven design is trusted as the go to trap by commercial prawn fisherman from California to Alaska.
The tapered design allows for stacking of the pots during transit. Ladner took this design originally made with light weight stainless steel frames and made it their own by incorporating large diameter steel for weight. A coating of UV protected PVC is then applied to the weighted frames. It is not uncommon for this durable coating to last over 15 years. Their most popular 35" trap weighs approximately 28 pounds. The 28" trap weighs about 23 pounds and the 39" pot weighs around 35 pounds.
The 1-3/4" (7/8" square) stretch mesh web is produced with #18 tarred nylon twine, the same material used in the commercial version. 3" stainless steel tunnel rings are woven into the web and aligned with rubber banding. The web is attached to the pot with 1/4" (top) and 5/16" (bottom) poly rope. The rope also acts as chaffing protection for the web and protects your boat from the heavy metal frame. A bottom drawstring allows for quick easy opening of the trap and easy access to the bait jar.
