Great product!

No instructions

The unit does not come with any instructions. You cannot bend the capillary tube to replicate the original bend without breaking the seal - as I discovered. The unit is useless without this connection,

Frigoboat thermostat was shipped qwikly and was an easy install. The old one was 17 years old and had corroded and stuck in nearly full cold. Works great now!

PRODUCT FAQs

Question: What is the best number to set the refrigerator on?
Mary C.

Answer: Like any mechanical thermostat this Frigoboat model requires a bit of trial and error to get set right.
It is best to start with a number in the middle say 3 or 4 and see if your refrigerator is holding the right temperature. (Use a thermometer if you have one.)

  • If the temperature in your refrigerator is right, you're all set.
  • If the temperature in your refrigerator is too warm, increase the number to get it cooler.
  • If the temperature in your refrigerator is too cold, decrease the number to make it a little warmer.
You will want to keep testing the temperature until you get it right. You will also want to check it depending on the temperature you are boating in and the season. You may need to adjust to changing climate conditions.
