Marine Engine Parts
A marine engine, when it runs flawlessly is a thing to appreciate but unfortunately a marine motor does require maintenance, parts, and love. Marine motor parts may look the same as regular automobile parts or as industrial engine parts but that is misleading so don’t be tempted to replace any part of the marine engine with a non-marine rated part because breaking down on the water if far more stressful than breaking down on land and could potentially have unwanted catastrophic results.
Marine engine parts are assembled differently mainly for safety reasons and for the enduring marine operating conditions. The two main types of marine propulsion engines are gasoline and diesel marine engines. The marine gasoline power plants are typically an inboard or an outboard whereas diesel engines are typically inboards. Marine electrical power generators are either gasoline or diesel and the fuel type typically corresponds to that of the main propulsion.
Finding parts for any of these engines from a vendor other than the original equipment manufacturer is not as difficult as one might imagine. There exists a reliable after market network that supports most marine engine manufacturers with original parts or superior after market parts from vendors such as Sierra and Go2Marine has a user-friendly online application that assists in finding the correct replacement part for a given marine motor. Check out the engine parts finder tool
There is also an alternate option to locate parts for marinized engines or motors such as for new and dated outboard motors the following web page contains useful links to assist in locating parts for outboard motors
. Find marine engine parts for vessels requiring inboard gasoline engine parts
If you aren't sure which part you need, please call our call center at 800-998-9508. The call center has extra tools for looking up OEM Mercruiser engine parts, Mercury engine parts, Crusader engine parts and other marine engine parts.
Marine diesel engines parts such as for Yanmar engine parts
have many OEM manufcaturers such as Seakamp Engineering
who makes replacement heat exchangers and oil Coolers. Marine engines are not the only component that requires maintenance, repair, or renewal.
Often the outdrive, propeller shafting or the propeller
require repair and locating the correct part can become time consuming. When swapping out parts on an engine, outdrive
or generator there are always marine engine part maintenance supplies
required such as antifreeze, oil, pumps, and filters.
