Does the job. A couple tips…

It does the job, way better than peel and stick patches. Tips: the patch need only be larger than the tear or hole, and with rounded corners, so you can make those included patches last a lot longer by cutting them to size. You'll likely still run out of patches before adhesive but can use anything else made of vinyl as a patch e.g. an old shower curtain or floatie.
